R.I.P Sister Fidelis Therese Fay, O.Carm.

Back to Events

Sister M. Fidelis Therese O.Carm. went home to the Lord on the morning of Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Manor, Framingham, MA, in the 35th year of her religious life.

Alice M. Fay was born on June 19, 1938, in Medford, MA to Leroy and Teresa (nee Carew) Fay. Before entering the Congregation, she worked for the New England Telephone Company as a computer office supervisor and operations manager for many years, traveled all over the world, and was a Third Order Lay Carmelite who cared for her mother at home until she passed away in June 1987. Sr. Fidelis entered the Congregation on January 8, 1989, and received the Carmelite Habit on September 9,  1989. She made her First Profession of Vows on September 14, 1991, and professed Perpetual Vows on October 3, 1999. Her Missions included St. Ann’s Home (1992-1997), Ozanam Hall (1997-1999), and St. Teresa’s Motherhouse (1999-2021). As her health began to fail, she was transferred to St. Patrick’s Manor (2021-2024) Assisted Living Convent, was later admitted to the Lourdes Unit and more recently required skilled care. In ministry Sr. Fidelis served as Personnel Director, Payroll Manager and Bursar, and was a member of the Community Choir and the Liturgy Committee for many years. The multiple talents God blessed her with included those in the areas of music, art, photography and computer graphics. She played the accordion and melodica, wrote music, songs and poetry, and was always very generous in using her gifts whenever and wherever they were needed. Having lived a very full life on earth, may Sr. Mary Fidelis Therese now joyfully enter into the fullness of eternal life!
