Hearing the call is a very personal experience for every Sister. For some, the call to follow can be crystal clear. For others, the road of discernment may be a longer one and full of twists and turns.

How do I know if God is calling me? Throughout the ages, many have struggled to understand the Lord's intention and call. Becoming a Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm is a process which requires time and ongoing search for God's will. Our only ministry is to the elderly and how we carry that out is informed by our Carmelite spirituality and the legacy of our foundress, Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa. So, becoming a Sister in our congregation is both an attraction to care and minister to the elderly population AND an attraction to the spirituality of Carmel. Many congregations may have similar type of work but what differentiates each one are the spirituality, traditions and the legacy of each congregation's foundress.
